Due to the instructors and many of the club members going to Toronto to participate in the annual Franco Behring Jiu Jitsu Alliance Symposium, classes are cancelled on Saturday, September 17 and Sunday, September 18. See you back on the mats on Tuesday night! OUSSS!

Competition 101 Seminar with Prof. Marco Costa

Attention Prospective FBJJA Competitors:

London BJJ will be hosting a 2-hour Competition Seminar with Professor Marco Costa on May 22, 2011. Learn under the tutelage of our association’s mat general. Prof. Marco will be focusing on what it takes to be a strong competitor at white-belt level, but these are fundamentals that can benefit practitioners at any level of competition.

Zombie House BJJ Submission Tournament 9 – Ruff House!

April is over!! May is here and we want subs!

This format of Submissions Only in-house tournaments pushed the Franco Behring competitors to excel at US Grappling Submissions Only Tournament last April 30th in Webster NY.

Our competitors took the tournament in Shock Trooper fashion leaving our American neighbors in awe and disbelief at how scary our submissions could be!

So come, participate and join us once again for this action packed neck choking, limb extending event.

This month, the Ruff House MMA will be hosting! Lets honor Professor “Papi Loco” McDonald with subs galore.

So forget about take-downs, points, and referee decisions… in here only subs count!

This Submission Only Tournament is going to be held once a month for 2011 to bring in all the schools of the Franco Behring Team within Ontario. It helps sponsor our top competitors to participate in MMA events, competitions and tournaments.

There are many competition events that will happen for the Summer of 2011. Lets get ourselves ready for these events!

FBJJA Competition Team Might be Small…

…but they have great skills on the mat. Franco Behring students amassed enough points during this weekend’s Ontario Open BJJ Tournament to rank #5 in Gi and #2 in No Gi. Parabens to all of our team members and Obrigado to all coaches, instructors and Professors.

If you’re interested in competing, here are just some of the local tournaments you may wish to participate in. Pencil these dates in your calendar and start training now for success later!

Kombat BJJ Classics (Gi and Nogi) – May 28th and 29th, Mississauga

GTA Championships (Gi and Nogi) – July 9th and 10th, Brampton (Not Confirmed)

The latest inter-academy subgrappling tournament will be held at GRACIE BARRA in London on Sunday, April 17th. This event is no-gi and round robin. Weigh ins will start at 2pm.

Cost is $20 for O.S.W.A. members, $30 for non members and $15 to be a member.

Last month’s tournament was amazing! We had to amazing Faixa Pretas competing, tapping and napping other competitors.

We welcomed Professor Matt “Papi Loco” Macdonald and Professor Richard “The Monkey” Nancoo into the fray!

This Submission Only Tournament is going to be held once a month for 2011 to bring in all the schools of the Franco Behring Team within Ontario and to prepare our competitors for the Ontario Open BJJ Tournament on April 2, 2011.
