Due to the instructors and many of the club members going to Toronto to participate in the annual Franco Behring Jiu Jitsu Alliance Symposium, classes are cancelled on Saturday, September 17 and Sunday, September 18. See you back on the mats on Tuesday night! OUSSS!

Competition 101 Seminar with Prof. Marco Costa

Attention Prospective FBJJA Competitors:

London BJJ will be hosting a 2-hour Competition Seminar with Professor Marco Costa on May 22, 2011. Learn under the tutelage of our association’s mat general. Prof. Marco will be focusing on what it takes to be a strong competitor at white-belt level, but these are fundamentals that can benefit practitioners at any level of competition.

Date: Sunday, May 22/2011
Time: 1:30 p.m to 3:30 p.m + rolling afterwards
Place: Family Karate Dojo, 405 Wharncliffe Road S. London ON N6J 2M3 (Between Baseline Road and Emery Street)
Cost: $30
Equipment Needed: Clean gi, pen, a pad of paper, and an open mind

Opening to all Franco Behring students.

FBJJA Competition Team Might be Small…

…but they have great skills on the mat. Franco Behring students amassed enough points during this weekend’s Ontario Open BJJ Tournament to rank #5 in Gi and #2 in No Gi. Parabens to all of our team members and Obrigado to all coaches, instructors and Professors.

If you’re interested in competing, here are just some of the local tournaments you may wish to participate in. Pencil these dates in your calendar and start training now for success later!

Kombat BJJ Classics (Gi and Nogi) – May 28th and 29th, Mississauga

GTA Championships (Gi and Nogi) – July 9th and 10th, Brampton (Not Confirmed)

ADCC (Nogi only) – August 20th , Toronto (Not Confirmed)

Bravado BJJ Open (Gi Only) – September 10th, Brampton (Not Confirmed)

Ottawa BJJ Open (Gi and Nogi) – October 8th, Ottawa (Not Confirmed)

Ontario BJJ Provincials (Gi and Nogi) -December 10th and 11th, Toronto (Not Confirmed)

So, tell your team mates and your instructors so they can help you reach your goal to go for the gold. OUSS!

Prof. Monkey of the FBJJA (EYMA) got past the grappling, striking, and (after an initial scare!) interview portions of the TUF selection process. Final cuts will be announced in approximately 2 weeks. Best wishes Prof. Monkey!

We’re Officially Open!

London BJJ is officially open for training. The website is still under construction, but we’re hoping to have it complete soon. For questions about London BJJ or if you’d like to try a week for free, please email and we’ll get back to you asap.
